Creating Collaborative Solutions focuses on this new way of problem solving through collaborative leadership. It examines new modes of working across traditional jurisdictions and sectors to identify, comprehend, and address emerging social problems.

The program seeks to develop the ability of participants to engage in new methods of problem solving through collaborative leadership. Participants examine the skills needed to create new arrangements for leaders in public, private, and nonprofit organizations to address new challenges – often reaching beyond government to incorporate institutions from other sectors in entirely new governance structures.

“In participating in this program, I was struck by the realization that no matter how diverse the group, there are threads of commonality in nearly all problems or challenges that can be adapted to one’s particular issue.”
-Haywood Merricks, Assistant Fire Chief, City of Oxnard, California
