OVERVIEW

In a world of highly constrained resources, the ability of a nongovernmental organization (NGO) to optimize its impact on society requires both clarity of purpose and flexibility.  Expanding Impact: Non-Governmental Organization Legitimacy, Advocacy and Partnerships offers NGO leaders the opportunity to sharpen their visions and think strategically about how to enhance the reach of their programs in a sustainable manner.

Expanding Impact
is designed specifically to reach leaders who would be unable to attend on-campus Executive Education programs offered by the John F. Kennedy School of Government.

The program focuses on strategies for:
  • Clarifying strategy and theories of change
  • Enhancing legitimacy and support among key stakeholders
  • Expanding capacity with stakeholder alliances
  • Expanding capacity with multi-sectoral partnerships
  • Managing change and organizational learning for expanded impact
Each topic is covered in a two-week module that combines readings, online discussion, videos, and a workbook exercise — allowing participants to apply the information learned in each module directly to their organization.
