ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Admission to this program is competitive and is based on professional achievement and organizational responsibility. There is no formal educational requirement, but fluency in written and spoken English is a necessity for the program.

Early application is encouraged. Qualified candidates are admitted on a rolling, space-available basis, and the program often fills to capacity. Because of the interactive nature of this program, the number of participants is limited. Applications received after the deadline will be considered only if space remains in the class. Because the time required to obtain a visa can be lengthy, we encourage applicants from outside the United States to apply at least 12 weeks before the program start date.

VISA
Overseas applicants should be aware that the time required to obtain a visa can be several months. This extra time needed should be taken into account during the program application process. Because the time required to obtain a visa can be lengthy, we encourage applicants from outside the United States to apply at least 12 weeks before the program start date.

Fellowship Opportunities
Executive Education at Harvard Kennedy School of Government recognizes that tuition payment is an obstacle for some applicants. We have identified several fellowship opportunities available to individuals who have applied for and been accepted to a given program.

The following fellowships are administered by separate organizations and have a selection process entirely independent of Harvard Kennedy School. We encourage participants to explore relevant opportunities from this list, and to search for additional sources of fellowship support.

For applicants from Croatia
For senior executives from Croatia's public sector, the Andronico Luksic Fellowships were established to advance Croatia's public interest by providing educational opportunities for the country's human capital at Harvard University. To be considered for this fellowship, please apply on line here. In response to the "Who will be the financial sponsor of your participation" question, type "Luksic".

Dorothy B. Brothers Executive Scholarship Program
For women business owners. Each award provides a scholarship of up to $4,500 to women business owners certified as a WBE (women business enterprise) by the Women's Business Enterprise National Council. Please check www.wbenc.org/EventsandPrograms/ExecutiveScholarshipProgram.aspx for award eligibility criteria.

For applicants from Latin America

The Latin America Development Leadership Program is a new initiative designed to support talented professionals who are working in Latin America or for Latin America in senior and important junior positions in government and NGO organizations.  Support is offered in the form of full or partial tuition assistance to attend a Harvard Kennedy School Executive Education program.  The program selected should be relevant and suitable for the applicant, given his or her education, work experience, and professional aspirations.

Download a PDF regarding the program for more information about the fellowship and further details on the application process.

Applicants must possess the following characteristics in order to receive fellowship support:

  • Residency in Latin America or working internationally on behalf of Latin America
  • Demonstrable commitment to and track record of work on issues of development, poverty, and hunger alleviation
  • Evidence of a continued commitment to work to effect positive change in these areas
  • Demonstrable need for financial assistance

As part of the application process, applicants are required to submit a brief essay (1-3 pages) documenting work experience and financial need and requesting support from the Latin America Development Leadership Program. To be considered for this fellowship, apply on line here. In response to the "Who will be the financial sponsor of your participation" question, type "Latin America Development Leadership Program."
