Dr. Peilei Fan is an assistant professor of Urban and Regional Planning at Michigan State University (MSU). Dr. Fan is originally from China. She has a Ph.D. in Economic Development and a MS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, both from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA. She also has a Master in City and Regional Planning from Rutgers University, USA and a BS in Computer Science from Nanjing University, China. Before she joined MSU, Dr. Fan worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at United Nations University, Institute of Advanced Studies (UNU-IAS) in Japan, affiliated with Tokyo Institute of Technology (2003-2004) and Tsukuba University (2004-2006). Her research foci include: technology policies, high-tech industrialization, and Asia’s urbanization. She has published peer-reviewed articles about technology development in China, Japan, and India. She currently serves as an associate editor for two academic journals: (1) International Journal of Technology and Globalization and (2) International Journal of Business and System Research.
