Michael Johnstone is Executive Director of Vantage Point Consulting, an Australian company specializing in organizational and leadership development. Together with his partner, Maxime Fern, he consults to business and government in Australia, SE Asia and the United States, working with senior executives, top teams and other groups of managers to link leadership, people, strategy and purpose. Recent clients include the Australian Treasury, the Federal Department of Education, Science and Training, a major Australian bank and a multinational hospital and laboratory products company. In the USA he has worked with Abbott Laboratories, AT&T and has been visiting faculty in executive programs at JFK School of Government. Michael is a consulting psychologist with training and prior experience in youth work, family therapy, local government, university teaching and research and community development and urban planning. He has a BA from the University of Auckland, New Zealand, an M Soc Sci from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a PhD from the Australian National University. Michael has lived and worked in several countries including New Zealand (where he was born), Israel, Malaysia and England and now calls Australia home.
