Henry Etzkowitz is chair in Management of Innovation, Creativity and Enterprise at the Business School, University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. Henry is author of Triple Helix: A New Model of Innovation (Stockhom: SNS and Beijing: Peoples Press, 2005), MIT and the Rise of Entrepreneurial Science (London: Routledge, 2002). He is also co-author of Public Venture Capital (New York: Harcourt, 2000) and Athena Unbound: The Advancement of Women in Science and Technology (Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 2000). He regularly publishes in Research Policy, Science and Public Policy, Minerva and the Journal of Technology Transfer. He is co-founder of the Triple Helix international conference series on university-industry-government relations. (Amsterdam, 1996; New York, 1998; Rio de Janeiro, 2000; Copenhagen, 2002; Torino, 2005. Singapore 2007) [www.triplehelix6.com]. His honors include Founding Chair of the Section on Science, Knowledge and Technology in the American Sociological Association. He has been awarded numerous research grants from the National Science Foundation and other foundations. He is a consultant to the Center for Business and Policy Studies (SNS) Stockholm, Sweden and the SUNY Research Foundation on technology transfer.
